Legrande's Middle School Academic Team recently competed in the District Governor's Cup District 18 competition.

The Legrande Cardinals were honored with the Hume Sportsmanship Award, one of the most respected distinctions presented at the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition (KAAC) Governor’s Cup. This prestigious award recognizes the team that best exemplifies integrity, fairness, and genuine camaraderie throughout the competition.

Voted on by fellow teams, the Hume Sportsmanship Award reflects the admiration and respect of peers, celebrating those who compete with both excellence and empathy. The Legrande Cardinals’ positive spirit, encouragement of others, and unwavering commitment to fair play set them apart as true ambassadors of sportsmanship.

This recognition stands as a testament to the team’s character, teamwork, and dedication—not only to academic success but also to fostering a supportive and respectful competitive environment.

Overall, our team placed third in quick recall and third in FPS (Future Problem Solving). Not only did we commit as a team to the top rankings, but we had several team members place individually in specific subjects; those students were:

-Madison Kinslow: 3rd place Language Arts
-Walker Froedge: 5th place Social Studies
-Xavier Vance: 5th place Science

Those students placing individually will be competing later this month in regional competition. Good luck Legrande Cardinals!

LeGrande Library & LeGrande Title 1 present "A Book You Love". This family involvement activity will be coming home with students in K-2 today. If you plan to participate, please work as a family to complete and return the activity by the due date listed. (Students in 3-8 who would like to participate can pick up a form from the library. ) Please message if you have any questions not answered on the graphic.

We recognized several individuals for Beanstack at Morning Meeting. All students who met the monthly goal were entered to win a Benny Plush. Winners included: Ezra Jones, Arabella Branstetter, Conleigh Cecil, Kayden Hamilton and Braxton Sadler. Mrs. England was our Adult winner and received a Christmas Goody Bag. Our Parent winner of a Benny Plush from our Parent Fun Days drawing was Taylor Lile! Congrats to all our winners!!!

“Good evening LeGrande Families. We wanted to remind everyone that our Christmas store will be available for students to shop beginning tomorrow morning through dismissal on Friday. All items in our store cost $5 or less. If your child was to purchase anything that contains glass; we will need someone will need to pick your child’s gifts up from school. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Jessica at school from 9-2.”

Information about ordering yearbooks will be coming home with students today. Orders will be online only and can be placed until March 13th.

Congratulations to Mr. Rowan Dill for being the 4th month attendance drawing winner. Rowan received a $25 gift card thanks to the generous donation of our friends at Tri-County Auto and Oil. Presenting the award was Mr. Allen Poynter and Mr. Trevor Meador.

If your child sold Candleberry candles, those orders are in today. Unfortunately, because they are in glass jars, we cannot send home orders on the bus with students. Please stop by the school before 4:00 to pick up your orders. Please call the school if you have questions.

Let us see that casserole! 🦃 🧡A huge shoutout to our cafeteria crew who kicked it up a notch today with a delicious Thanksgiving meal! 🧡 🤎Students and staff enjoyed turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, broccoli salad, cranberry sauce, rolls, peach cobbler, and sunshine bars!🤎 🧡We also appreciate the extra set of hands from Mrs. Andrea and Mrs. Megan !🧡 👍🏼 or ❤️ if you think we have the best lunch ladies around! They always feed us well, and we are so grateful for them this holiday season! 🧡🤎
